Mara was trained at Smith School for Social Work and holds a certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from Boston University. Mara has been a practicing clinician in the Boston area since 2001. In addition to her private practice and adjunct faculty position at Northeastern University (2006-2020), Mara does trainings and workshops for clinicians, childbirth professionals, and families. Mara has served as a consultant in a variety of roles since 2001.
